Anonymous asked: Those 'tiny sea creatures' are neither jellyfish nor octopi... They are cuttlefish.

….I know.

there are some octopuses in the pile though.

thirty-second-note asked: I love your little polymer creatures!! They look almost like glass, are they fragile enough that if you drop it they'll break? Just curious :o your jellyfish and cuttlefish are so cute *_* if I had pierced ears I would definitely want to get the dumbo jellyfish ones, they remind me of trolli eggs :P also, your background pic looks like you did it with the program alchemy? random question though haha

Thanks! They are surprisingly strong, I took one and I couldn’t even rip a leg off an octopus with my bare hands, they are pretty indestructible. The only weak points are the metal eyepin, if you bend it back and forth enough times with pliers it will break, and when you try to bend the tiny legs the glaze might chip off.

and yes my background is from the first and possibly last time I used alchemy c:

I started doing a bunch of mineral studies to practice hard edges and translucency. this is the first one, I really need more practice.
(photo ref source: warning, lots of pretty pictures)

Anonymous asked: i tried to color my clay with oil pastel and baked but didnt come out very nicely. noy as shiny glossy transparent as yours. if you dont mine me asking what kind of varnish do you use to glossify clay? thanks always. ill post a picture of my sonic when i'm done :D

You can use the glaze that should be in the store right beside the polymer clays, it makes it nice and shiny. You’re making a sonic? That’s adorable I can’t wait to see it.

veelafreckles asked: The piece you did of caliborn on derse for the new album was so beautiful, is there any chance you might be willing to make a version of it that's a tad more optimized for desktop use? I've tried recropping it myself but you worked the composition and environment so well already that I just can't get it right ;u;

thank you!

I’ve been meaning to do a proper derse/prospit painting for a while now, that album art was a bit rushed and doesn’t look very good big so I will try to make a wallpaper sized one soon.

Anonymous asked: Are you still using the monoprice tablet? If so, is it still performing as well as when you first got it?

Yes I’m still using it and it’s working the same except for the pen, I dropped it a few too many times and had to superglue it back together.

Two things I should probably add to the old review - the large size is great and I can’t see myself drawing with anything smaller now that I’ve gotten used to it, and sometimes the cursor randomly lags when colour picking/switching tools in photoshop (though that could be many things doing that).

Also I found buttons at the top of the 12 x 9 tablet pretty useless and miss the side buttons my intuos had. not that you asked but I really, really miss them.

Anonymous asked: If you don't mind me asking, what brand of translucent polymer clay do you use and how do you color them? I know different brands have varying levels of translucency so I was curious as to how you got yours to be so pleasingly glass-like.

hey anon,

I use premo frost translucent clay and tint it with coloured clay or artist’s oil paint (or a combination of both). mostly to get it glassy looking what you make has to be thin and smooth, sanding helps.

I use fimo translucent for my jellyfish earrings so you can kinda tell the difference between them in translucency.
